I can't remember anything about this one, so something tells me I found it boring the first time around.

I read Read My Pins by Madeleine Albright. Very interesting. Now this is the kind of book I love: one that tells me the why's and how's behind a fascinating trait or hobby or habit. A book that I come away from thinking, "Wow! You can read about it here.

I usually like to exercise my rights and read all of the books on this list, however, this year there are some that I don't think I can stomache. Not because I find them offensive, but because I find them to be...drivel.

I just can't believe that these books are the most challenged (two male penguins adopt an abandoned egg), when there are authors like Chuck Palahniuk. I am still trying to bleach my brain after reading one of his books MONTHS ago (and I think I read one of his tamer tomes).

I'm not saying that Palahniuk should be challenged - I don't believe in that kind of censoring in the first place - I'm just saying that when I think of possibly offensive material (and I'm judging only from my own views), none of these would make the list.LQhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04217988817240679956noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166921842768040897.post-65915136878237342182009-05-19T04:25:00.000-07:002009-05-19T04:27:25.343-07:00May 14, 2009Columbine by Dave CullenLQhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04217988817240679956noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3166921842768040897.post-38378562732505991382009-04-03T18:51:00.000-07:002009-04-03T18:55:38.404-07:00April 3, 2009Magical Thinking by Augusten Burroughs

If I could host a dinner party, and invite any three people, living or dead, I would ask Augusten Burroughs, David Sedaris and Freddie Mercury.
